Building Connections and Opportunity

Malak Foundation’s Support for the Development of Getameen

As conflict and displacement continue to affect millions across Sudan, countless families are striving to rebuild their lives — both within the country and across the Sudanese diaspora. Amid this complex reality, the need for trusted, accessible, and community-driven tools to connect people and opportunities has never been greater.

At Malak Foundation, an Australian not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting initiatives across Sudan, Africa, and the broader community in Australia, we believe in fostering practical solutions that empower individuals and strengthen local economies. One such initiative we are proud to support — a digital platform developed to connect people seeking services with skilled professionals ready to help.

About Getameen

A new online platform built to make it easier for Sudanese users to find verified, trusted service providers in their area — from skilled tradespeople and mechanics to drivers, tutors, and healthcare workers.

Equally, it provides a space for skilled workers, including displaced and returning Sudanese, to showcase their abilities and connect with meaningful work opportunities. By enabling direct and transparent connections, Getameen helps restore a sense of reliability and community trust that has long been the foundation of Sudanese social life.

In a time when so many Sudanese families are returning to their homes, rebuilding their lives, or establishing new livelihoods, platforms like Getameen offer a vital bridge between those in need of support and those ready to provide it.

Why It Matters

With ongoing internal displacement and migration, many Sudanese communities have lost access to their traditional support networks. For returnees and displaced individuals, finding trusted local services or fair work opportunities can be extremely challenging.

Getameen directly addresses this issue — helping people to rebuild connections, regain stability, and participate in local economies. The platform promotes trust, accountability, and inclusion, providing a digital pathway for both workers and service users to engage safely and confidently.

Malak Foundation’s Role

The Malak Foundation has been working closely with the Getameen team to support concept development, technical testing, and community engagement. Our contribution focuses on ensuring that the platform remains accessible, inclusive, and user-friendly for diverse users, including those with limited digital experience or connectivity.

Currently, Getameen is in its internal testing phase, with a public launch planned soon. This milestone reflects a collective effort to combine innovation, community values, and real-world impact.

A Shared Vision

The development of Getameen reflects the kind of project Malak Foundation is deeply committed to supporting — practical, community-led innovation that empowers individuals and contributes to rebuilding lives.

As an organisation based in Australia with strong links to Sudan and Africa, our work spans across borders — from supporting local initiatives that strengthen diaspora engagement to partnering with grassroots efforts that promote stability, skills, and opportunity in regions affected by conflict.

We believe that empowering people through access, trust, and connection is key to long-term recovery and resilience. Getameen represents this vision in action — a digital bridge helping to rebuild human connections, one opportunity at a time.
