Temporary Activities Sponsorship

Malak Foundation Approved as Temporary Activities Sponsor: Expanding Pathways for Skills, Training, and Global Experience in Australia

Malak Foundation is proud to announce that it has been formally approved by the Australian Department of Home Affairs as a Temporary Activities Sponsor under the Temporary Activity visa program, covering Subclass 403, Subclass 407, and Subclass 408 visas.

This approval marks a significant milestone in Malak Foundation’s work to create structured, ethical, and skills-focused pathways for individuals seeking internships, professional development, and on-the-job training opportunities in Australia.

As the program is rolled out, Malak Foundation will progressively introduce a suite of services designed to support participants before, during, and after their placement, while ensuring full compliance with Australian immigration and workplace regulations.

What Does Temporary Activities Sponsorship Mean?

Temporary Activities Sponsorship allows approved Australian organisations to sponsor eligible overseas participants to undertake short-term, purpose-specific activities that contribute to skills development, cultural exchange, and workforce capability—without displacing Australian workers.

As an approved sponsor, Malak Foundation can support eligible participants under specific visa streams where the primary purpose is training, professional development, research, or cultural and community engagement.

Overview of the Visa Classes

Subclass 403 – Temporary Work (International Relations) Visa

The Subclass 403 visa supports activities that strengthen international cooperation and institutional partnerships. It is commonly used for:

  • Government-supported or institution-backed programs

  • Professional exchanges and capacity-building initiatives

  • Short-term placements linked to international agreements

This visa is particularly suitable for structured programs involving overseas institutions, public sector engagement, or internationally endorsed initiatives.

Subclass 407 – Training Visa

The Subclass 407 visa is designed specifically for occupational training and professional skill development. It allows participants to:

  • Undertake structured workplace-based training

  • Improve skills in their current occupation or area of study

  • Gain exposure to Australian workplace standards and practices

Training under this visa must be clearly structured, supervised, and aligned with a documented training plan. It is not a general work visa and must focus on learning and capability building.

Subclass 408 – Temporary Activity Visa

The Subclass 408 visa supports individuals participating in approved temporary activities, including:

  • Research and innovation projects

  • Cultural, community, and sporting programs

  • Industry-endorsed or sector-specific initiatives

This visa is often used where activities do not fit neatly into other visa subclasses but are recognised as contributing to Australia’s cultural, social, or professional landscape.
